Here is my original List

I've Accomplished More Than I Thought Hurray!!!!

I just went through my list and was able to cross off some more items:

69. Have all CD's downloaded on computer
I must have downloaded two hundred CD's. I've donated them to the local Lions Club garage sale which is raising money for White Cane.

77. Start wearing dresses, skirts and jumpers at least 4 times a week
I now have two long skirts. One that falls below the knee and the other which is full length, down to my ankles. I've been wearing the full length one to church and around town.

78. Let my hair grow long

My hair is now 1 inch from my shoulder, this is the length that I'm going to keep it at, unless of course I decide to chop it all off again.

Update of My List within a List

I have about 11/2 months to reach my June 26th date for my List within a List goals.

#18 Once Project Linus blanket is finished sew a quilt.
I might be completing the quilt before I finish the Project Linus Blanket. See below #47

#40 Lyle Lovett concert. Yeeeeeeeeees, DH is getting tickets for a March concert, belated Valentines celebration.
Unfortunately we never went and saw Lyle Lovett, Husband never bought the tickets. So, I've learned my lesson and the next time Lyle Lovett is in town I'll go buy the tickets, oh well!

#47 & #27 I start a knitting class this week and the first project I'd like to complete is the baby blanket for Project Linus.
Update on Knitting the Project Linus quilt: I'm having a hard time learning to knit, this might take me longer then expected.

#58 Figure out which charity race I'm going to do and sign up for it.
Still working on this one.

#73 Don't drive for a month.
This is a difficult one, now especially since I'm moving to Southern California, where in order to get anywhere you need to take the car.

#76 Wear eyeliner, lipstick, foundation, perfume for 1 month.
I've been wearing foundation and eyeliner, but need to start wearing perfume and lipstick everyday.

#86 Practice yoga for 1 month.
Been practicing once in a while but not everyday.

#98 Write in my prayer journal everyday for 1 month.
Today, I'm going to start a prayer journal and begin writing in it.

#101 Study the Quakers
I'll look on the local library system and see if they have any book on Quakers.

Couple things to cross off my list

To see my list here is a link 101 in 1001 Days.
Well I'm not going to cross off reading the Elm Creek series by Jennifer Chiaverini yet, but I have read a few of them. I've finished the first 4 books out of the series. They are wonderful quick reads. The women in the stories could actually be you, me or any other woman out there. Stories are about the struggles and joys woman have had in the past and present. Even if you aren't a quilter this is a great series.

The one thing I can cross off is wine tasting in Paso Robles, California.
My husband and I went to Paso Robles for wine tasting and stayed at the Historic Paso Robles Inn. We went on a one day tour of the local wineries. I highly recommend using Grapevine Tours, who we used for the day. Our driver was Fritz, he was born, raised and still lives in the area. He was very funny, helpful and knowledgeable about the region and wine tasting. You don't have to lift a finger to do anything except taste wine, he takes care of everything. The day included a gourmet lunch, which was very good. The winery I have pictured Four Vines Winery was a lot of fun. Marketed to the 20-30 something age group and I might add for those older ones who are young at heart (or just haven't grown up), which is includes me. They have temporary tattoo's and matching wine glasses that you can choose from and then take home with you. The wine was very good and it was a lot of fun wine tasting and joking around.

So Far...

I finished listening to the unabridged version of Robinson Crusoe. I really enjoyed listening to it on my MP3 player, I had more flexibility of when and where I could listen then if I was reading it.

I read "The Quilters Apprentice" first in the Elm Creek Series and have started the second in the series "Round Robin". If your a quilter or have always had an interest in quilting this is a great fictional series to learn about quilting in a story setting. One of the items on my 101 Listwas to sew quilts from my fabric stash and these books are really getting me motivated.

I did forget to take pixs of Robinson Crusoe CD holder and The Quilters Apprentice for the blog, this is one of my 101 things I'm going to do.

I'm planning on having my 1 month of No TV in April. So what I'd like to do before that is rent all the available seasons of the TV show "The Office" and watch that with DH.

Well till the next update

Update of Progress

I had my first knitting class (#47) the other day. The instructor taught us the basics just to get us started. She is going to see if we can get together every two weeks as a group to keep learning and sharing. I checked out a book from the library to help me with visuals and reading patterns. I have also been listening to Robinson Crusoe (#89) on my MP3, Unabridged version. I can't imagine reading the whole unabridged book, by listening to the MP3 I know I'll finish it.

I also have ordered from the library The Quilters Apprentice which is the first book in the Elm Creek Quilt series (#92). I'll start reading that this weekend.

List Within a List

Ok, so I've set a date of June 26, 2007 to have a few of my things marked off my list.

Why the 26th of June, because for no better reason than it's my birthday.

I noticed when I was organizing my 101 things that I might have gone overboard with the travel category. We'll see if I can accomplish all that travel in 2.75 years.

Anyway, here is my list within my 101 Things List:

#6 & #7 Research vacationing in New England and the Ozarks. I should try complete at least one this Fall.

#18 Once Project Linus blanket is finished sew a quilt.

#40 Lyle Lovett concert. Yeeeeeeeeees, DH is getting tickets for a March concert, belated Valentines celebration.

#47 & #27 I start a knitting class this week and the first project I'd like to complete is the baby blanket for Project Linus.

#58 Figure out which charity race I'm going to do and sign up for it.

#69 Have all CD's downloaded.

#73 Don't drive for a month.

#76 Wear eyeliner, lipstick, foundation, perfume for 1 month.

#77 Start wearing skirts and dresses. I've purchased a long jean skirt and a jean jumper. I'd like to start wearing a dress to church every Sunday.

#81 Organize my 101 list

#86 Practice yoga for 1 month.

#89 Robinson Crusoe - I'm going to cheat and listen to the unabridged MP3 version of the book. I'm going to listen to it and get my walking exercise in at the same time. I would like to have the book completed by April 8, 2007 - Easter Sunday.

#92 Start reading Elm Creek books.

#98 Write in my prayer journal everyday for 1 month.

Criteria for the 1001 Day Project

I came across this idea this morning, here's the link Triplux
I'm going to create my 101 list and post it and the updates on this blog. Here is the criteria that I got off of Triplux.

Creating your own 1001 Day Project
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as new year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focused. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.
